the US-Mexico border wall is a scar on the landscape, a slap in the face whenever you catch it in your peripheral vision, deeply mentally and emotionally oppressive by design, and the shame of our nation. (the wall of course didn't originate with trump: the first walls built by the INS were erected in the 1940s and were expanded in the 70s and expanded again, more aggressively and purposefully with an explicit agenda of preventing "illegal immigration," under both hw bush and clinton in the 90s. ofc w bush and obama were also major border wall proponents and allocated billions of dollars to increasing barrier mileage and intensity)
i loveeeeee ripping out the few remaining populations of critically endangered maritime scrub plants and cutting off jaguar territories and forcing starving impoverished people to die horribly in the desert for the crime of being refugees from US-backed drug violence and US-caused climate destruction that made their own countries/lifestyles uninhabitable. the dunes in the above photograph are a rare and sensitive habitat type with an extremely high level of biodiversity btw with 4% of insects collected there being endemic, meaning they have been collected nowhere else

Amantes es una película española dirigida por Vicente Aranda y basada en hechos reales.
Prevista en un principio como un capítulo de la serie de televisión La huella del crimen, el productor Pedro Costa pensó que sería interesante aspirar a más y acabó siendo una película llevada al cine, con gran éxito de taquilla y crítica.
