Jean Baudrillard opens his essay "The Precession of Simulacra" with the following quote: "The simulacrum is never that which conceals the truth - it is the truth which conceals that there is none.
The simulacrum is true.

It's his own little joke that this quote, attributed to the Wisdom book of Ecclesiastes, is, in fact, made up. A simulacrum itself.
However, this topic had already been addressed more than a decade earlier by La Lupe in her song "Puro Teatro":
"Teatro, lo tuyo es puro teatro Falsedad bien ensayada, estudiado simulacro"
