what do you mean jean is all the way in deep space and she felt the birth of eternal storm? WHAT DO YOU MEAN?
yeah so i think i’m going to go mad behind this issue because i’m stuck thinking about ororo being sequestered in a tiny part of her own consciousness, completely unable to move her own body, and watching as eternity nearly kills the people she’s fought beside. god, the guilt and the anguish that’s going to come from that…
loved the entire conversation between ororo and idie but this moment in it is one that is really sticking with me. charles’ dream is the foundation for ororo’s own but hers developed differently. the dream for mutants to be treated equally and as humans (which they are) still persists, but her vision for what that may look like has evolved over time to the point that she and charles have argued because of it. she inherited a dream but she had to make it her own.
i am also happy that she mentions sam here because that does capture a lot of black-american’s perspective on the country. sam has to believe in what america could be in order to continue to operate as a black captain america in the face of endless bigotry and anti-blackness. that hope and optimism is essential.
close-ups of her eyes when she uses her powers does it for me every single time
