A sample from a collaborator just came. And surprise, surprise — we do not have a holder for the sample. I kind of expected it to be attached on a glass or on some chip so I can put it under the AFM microscope. But no, it’s a tiny little disk, 3 mm in diameter. In the end I taped it around the edges on the glass with a common office tape.
Now I am just thinking how will I write the current experimental procedure to the publication... “The sample was attached on top of the glass cover slip by a tape holding the edges of the disk.” It sounds ridiculous! Any better ideas?
