You all know by now that I am a lover of many things...
And food is definitely one of them.
We were suggested to this place by our local Korean Manager, Sue. The restaurant is called Lab 24, one of the only modern fine dining restaurants we could find anywhere in Seoul. As you can see, this meal was absolutely beautiful & take it from me, it tasted even better than it looked :)
The owner of Lab 24 is a man named Edward Kwon. He is considered a celebrity chef here in Seoul, who is trying to "globalize Korean cuisine". I'm not sure if this meal was Korean inspired BUT the meal was full of fresh, local ingredients from Korea. His head chef, Brian H Lhee, (who served us & was so nice) is actually the man that creates all of these meals (along with Kwon's approval and tweeks), and they both definitely didn't disappoint our crowd!!! ** He is pictured with us in the next post!
Emma, James, Candy, Paul, John, James, Jemma, & Me - were all a part of this fabulous night, full of good laughs & lots of happy bellies. Every meal came with a wine tasting that complimented each dish. If I were to be in any other profession, besides performing, I would want to be a chef. It is such an art form to do what these people do. Being able to find all these amazing tastes and then artfully place them on a plate & pair it with a wine. It really takes a VERY talented person (with good strong taste buds) to execute this so well. While serving us our amuse bouche, they even said "This is to cleanse your palate, before your journey starts...". And as you can see in this post and soon the next, it was an unforgettable meal with a beautiful journey :)
