This week was my birthday week. I grilled oysters, waded in water, listened to trees, cuddled my dog, made pancit from my pamilya recipe, laughed with my beloved. I didn't think I'd make it to 21. I've made it through my 30s. In this decade I: survived homelessness, survived abusive partnerships, survived medical complex, had 7 surgeries including hysterectomy, wrote 2.5 books & countless speeches, loved 2 dogs, routinely fed over 12 cats, founded & left many collectives, embraced ancestors blood & queer alike. This is the summary an earth sign scribbles in the middle of the woods over a mug of coffee. I'm 40. As a #Nonbinary #Transgender #Disabled POC, I really don't have many models. So yeah. There's that joy & unknown! So many times I didn't want to be here. But I am. I'm still here. I can't believe it.
