I love that I can look up "Bruiser Woods" the name of Elle Woods' dog in the film Legally Blonde (and yes she does refer to him with her last name) and immediately find the Wikipedia page for the dog actor who played that dog because this dog actor has his own Wikipedia page.

James Darren

James William Ercolani (June 8, 1936 – September 2, 2024), known by his stage name James Darren, was an American actor who studied in New York City with legendary acting teacher Stella Adler for a number of years. He was discovered by talent agent and casting director Joyce Selznick, who helped him sign with Columbia. A few weeks later, he was starring in his first movie, Rumble on the Docks (1956), which was well-received, particularly by the teen audience. His teen heartthrob image landed him his breakout role as the surfer boy leading man in Gidget (1959) and its sequels. He also sang the title track of the film, leading to a string of pop hits for Colpix Records and Warner Bros. Records, the biggest of which was "Goodbye Cruel World" (No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1961). After leaving Columbia, his popularity waned but he was able to portray variety diverse roles instead of being typecasted as a wholesome teen idol. He was last seen in the independent film Lucky (2017).

He died from congestive heart failure in his sleep, at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, on September 2, 2024 at 88 years old.
