I like simple things, but that doesn’t necessarily mean I like this crazy minimal hype so many peeps are into right now. What’s is wrong with owning things? Well loved things? I find that a lot of what is presented right now on the big and wide interwebs is pretty extreme. You don’t need to get rid of 95% of things you own, of your furniture and mementos. But what I like as an essence of minimalism is that yes, things don’t need to be complicated and also in our consumerism dictated world you don’t always need the newest stuff, take care of what you have and be creative with that. Anyways. Clothing. I hate shopping. I like sewing. But also I am me, I like to procrastinate and I look how I look. I like me, but fashion can be cruel. So sometimes I look like a slob. And some days I don’t know what to wear. I don’t have a huge closet, but I have enough options to get frazzeled in the morning when I’m in a hurry and it’s one of those days. Yeah, so I stumbled upon the six items challenge that’s going on right now by labourbehindthelabel, and decided to go with it. You pick 6 items out of your closet for every day use (except underwear, socks, accessories, shoes and sports wear... that’s unlimited) and stick with them for the next six weeks. It goes against the fast fashion industry and I also love that it brings simpleness to my mornings. Above is my wardrobe choice.
