Popular as pets, siamese fighting fish or betta fish are part of the group known as labyrinth fish, or Anabantoidei. They’re not called this because they excel at solving mazes; rather, members of this group have a special organ called the labyrinth organ which allows these fish to take oxygen directly from the air for short periods of time-- perfect for the low-oxygenated water in which many of these species live.

The climbing perch or climbing gourami (Anabas testudineus), very tough fish, eat anything, when the water dries out they can crawl to another water source and can survive without water for three days (they’re related to Betta fish, can breathe air)
