After too much drama with this tank it seems it’s stable again. Planted new background plants and we’ll see how it goes :)

The requester elaborates: “ when fishing the tropical fish item has a 1.7% chance of being fished. when spawned in the wild the tropical fish mob has a 10% chance of spawning with a randomized color, pattern, and size outside of the 22 standard variants. also there are 22 specific variants from the 2,700+ that use a different naming convention than the rest (they're named after real fish species!). also also one of the available colors that tropical fish we not supposed to be able to spawn naturally with was black. but due to a bug this can happen! and they can be summoned without a visible pattern! ”
