the td outbreak has rendered his region entirely unable to grow their own crops due to infecting the soils and dirtying the water, making the poverty problem even worse.
the only way the people of astrea eat now is via food rations sent from huanglong, and even then, most are unable to eat due to how restrictive rations are and just how long lines are.
labyrinthium, from his place as one of the gods assistants, saw that nothing was being done and abandoned his post to help the humans in their suffering as much as possible.
donning a human-ish appearance, he runs a clinic on barebones supplies based off what huanglong gives them every time there's a ration shipment, but he makes it work.
he's one of the only doctors in astrea, but refuses to charge anyone, instead living in squalor himself, but is able to sleep at night knowing that those he helps are at least somewhat eased in their misery until the gods decide to finally help them again.
