WIP Wednesday: Cast on a sweater for my DIL. I think it will be lovely, but the back is a lot of plain knitting. This hat for my daughter will mix it up a bit, and hopefully please my daughter.

Adding triangular side panels to a button-up sweatshirt because it’s a mens cut and feels awkward and narrow around my hips. Using the arms from my mom’s childhood camp sweatshirt for the panels. Debating adding lace over them to tie it into the black fabric better and add a little reinforcement to the ancient fabric, I like the effect more than I thought I would. Initially wanted to do a black thread sashiko embroidered pattern on the new panels but that’s more effort and the lace is really growing on me now that I see it in place.
