A climbing lace monitor.
Lace Monitor pen drawing
Lace monitor feeding on a kangaroo carcass not far from Hay. Around 1-m in length, it retreated to a tree & started rubbing its face on the trunk (probably to remove remnant gore)
Juvenile Lace Monitor! Staff at a local warehouse thought the long tail might have been a snake, instead just this gorgeous young goanna. While these powerful lizards can grow to 2 meters, this girl was probably no more than 60cm. Eggs are lain in termite mounds and sealed with mud to safely incubate, the mother returning later to dig out the hatchlings. They're quite secretive when small, so this was quite a special find!! :) #Brisbane #brisbanephotographic #brisbanephotographer #wildlife #reptile #lacemonitor #juvi #cutie #varanus #reptilesofinstagram #goanna #younggoanna #Australia #QLD #Queensland #qldphotographer #qldwildlife (at Brisbane, Queensland, Australia) https://www.instagram.com/p/BscjFoXHjkd/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=s65yvixndcqr
This lace monitor came to visit #goanna #lacemonitor #bigasslizard
Knife and Fork This Goanna (Lace Monitor) seemed quite at home venturing out from the scrub in country NSW. I love this particular capture as you can see the perfectly straight forked tongue and the claws of this massive Lizard. http://www.davidromaphotography.com/blog/2017/11/knife-and-fork #lizard #lacemonitor #goanna #wildlife #photography #davidromaphotography
So I did some Archery practice today. This is a group shot at 35 metres, confident enough to start chasing deer. The Goanna on the side of the track was a very cool bonus, only a little guy at around 90cm long.
We encountered a poor lace monitor that had been knocked by a car yesterday. Fortunately the vet was just across the road at Pullenvale. Hope it made it. #injuredwildlife #lacemonitor #reptilesofinstagram #shotoniphone https://www.instagram.com/p/CUvfd2-BMCX/?utm_medium=tumblr
