being ‘just friends’ with the one you thought you were going to marry one day was hard enough - being ‘just friends’ with them while you prepared the happiest day of most peoples lives for others was even worse. while she tried to keep herself happy, focused, bubbly, she couldn’t deny that sometimes it got her down, made her question why they were even still trying to keep a connection together.
“all i wanted was to know you could make the commitment,” she explains, trying to keep her voice steady. “i didn’t need the proposal and the wedding right then. i just needed to know we were going somewhere.”
