#lackadaisy rambles

FINALLY got down to reading the actual Lackadaisy comics, fuzzy vision be damned, and reading it with my favorite character being Rocky based on first impressions is like going through the five stages of grief

I love how complex everyone is, I'm a sucker for that sort of thing if my rambles about Undertale and deltarune are anything to go off of

Rocky is still my favorite with Freckle definitely being my second favorite, but I have such mixed feelings about them and really everyone. I'll ramble under the cut cause there's spoilers, I know some people are trying to stay blind for the show

First thing is Rocky's connection to Mitzi. I think at first glance, with the way he is around Wick, it looks like a romantic interest but I think its something a little more complicated

I don't think hes necessarily attracted to her, rather he sees Wick as a threat to the whole operation they have going. If Mitzi gets Wick to invest into the Lackadaisy, he thinks she wouldn't need him to do the rum-running anymore, thus in his eyes he'd be useless to her. He's desperate for her attention because she's one of the only people whos given him the time of day, and seemingly right after he was kicked out by his own family

Which, that whole thing raises questions for me too. I've heard that apparently whatever happened was actually Freckle's fault but Rocky took the blame. I do wonder what he did that was so bad that Nina kicked him out, but not bad enough to cut him off entirely

Also I love Rocky to the moon and back but him bringing Freckle into his business while guilt tripping him is obviously scummy, hes not incapable of being a bad person (also the whole pig farm thing)

Thats about it for my rambling rn, not my usual rambles but I think this series is really neat and I can't wait for the animated show :3
