This Second Life blog is run by Lacry Moon (Lachrymose Nightwish in-world).
This is primarily a hobby blog where I post photos and talk about interesting things I find in Second Life. I no longer work on sponsored posts regularly due to my RL work and schedule constraints.

✧ Full posts with credits are on my Wordpress blog.
✧ You can also view my photos on Flickr, Bluesky, and Primfeed.
✧ Posts on my main Tumblr blog are also available on a curated blog feed, which does not include any non-blog posts.
✧ Lastly, I post some SL-related videos on my Youtube account.

Hi~ I've been debating doing it for days, but ended up deciding to switch my main blog and side blog.
This blog {@lacrymoon} will be my main blog where I post SecondLife stuff and reblog SL stuff, basically like how I used twitter.
On the other hand, my side blog {@inspiredbylacrymoon} will be exclusively for my blog posts — basically the opposite of how it used to be — because I want to be more active on my main and interact with people ^^
As I'm organizing things and moving stuff around, the blogs might be messy and/or inaccessible from time to time.
hi, you've reached Lacry's sideblog! This is basically a more curated version of my main blog and will exclusively be for my blog posts.
This blog {@inspiredbylacrymoon} will be more like a gallery or showcase of my blog posts; think "flickr".
On the other hand, my main blog would be the place where I'd reblog other people's posts and share other non-blog stuff. I'll use it like twitter — basically just a micro-blogging platform where I say any random stuff I'm thinking about.
Anyway, @lacrymoon is my main blog, so all my interactions on this blog will still be under that name.
I'd love to follow more #SecondLife people here on tumblr, so definitely do say hi if you stumble onto this post!

This note was updated on July 7, 2023, when I switched my main and side blogs. The original note from November 2022 reads:
hi, you've reached Lacry's sideblog! This is basically a less formal (maybe "less curated" is the right word?) version of my main blog.
I want to make sure my main blog is organized and more like a gallery or showcase of my blog posts (think "flickr"), while this side blog would be the place where I'd reblog other people's posts and share other non-blog stuff.
I'll basically use this side blog like how I used twitter; just a micro-blogging platform where I say any random stuff I'm thinking about.

I want to address some things I wasn’t able to address all those years ago, when I first stopped blogging actively here, because talking about those issues now is not as painful for me. This is going to be a long post.
My latest post in this blog was from September 2015. I was just 20 years old then and was still finishing my degree.
Back then, I fell in love with the work of a blogger. I felt incredibly lucky to be doing something I loved, even though I was also busy because of my academic workload, and felt honored to receive the trust of my sponsors. I wanted to learn more about editing and taking better photos, and I worked very hard to grow my little blog.
At the time, my blog was part of a few blog syndicates. I was also invited to blog for events, and creators reached out to me personally to blog for them. I really treasured the time I was active as a blogger even though my little blog was never that popular. I just loved being able to do something I was passionate about.
I started blogging because I wanted to have a record of things I loved in Second Life; and that remains true to this day. Back when I didn’t have any sponsors, I mostly blogged about freebies and stuff I found all over the grid. I would look for new sims to explore and take a lot of photos and somewhere down the road I started posting them on Flickr, sometime later I also started making blog posts about them in my blogspot site.
✧ ✧ ✧
If you take a close look at my blog’s archives, you’d see a gap between my blog posts in 2014 and then again in 2015. That gap was due to a serious health issue I had in 2014.
I had to urgently stop blogging sometime around September 2014 due to my health issues, which made RL very difficult and painful for me, and I always felt very guilty and sad about having to stop in the middle of everything even though I know it was physically impossible for me to continue at the time.
I was only able to get in touch with my blog sponsors sometime around December 2014 when my condition has improved a little, but at the time I had understandably already been removed from some of my sponsors’ blogger lists due to inactivity. I still reached out to apologize to them and thank them for the time we worked together, my heart heavy with guilt.
✧ ✧ ✧
I still don’t like thinking about that time in my life, even now, but I wanted to acknowledge that I was suffering and in pain back then.
I loved having my own little world in Second Life. I loved meeting all sorts of interesting people from all over the grid and making friends from far-away places. I also felt like I grew closer with my RL friends who joined me in Second Life.
But, above all, I loved being able to create art in my own way. The work I’ve published on my blog may not seem like much to anyone else, but I absolutely loved putting looks together and sort of creating stories about them. I would obsess over every little detail and take so many photos—most of which I actually kept only to myself and never posted on my blog. That was the best part of Second Life for me.
I’m a 25-year-old writer now, turning 26 this year. I feel like I’ve changed so much in the last five years, but I think a part of me will always remain the same; for better or for worse, I’m not really sure yet.
This year, in the middle of a pandemic, I wanted to come back and visit the virtual world I used to love. I’m in a better place now, physically and mentally, and I wanted to give blogging another chance.
I will not be actively seeking sponsors for a long time, I think. I just want to rediscover my love of blogging and take more beautiful pictures.
Thank you for reading this incredibly long blog post and for the support you’ve given my little blog.
Hi! It’s been a while, but I’ve decided to update my tumblr account again. I used to be very active on flickr (+ kinda active on twitter) before SL folks migrated from flickr to twitter. I’ve been quite inactive since the migration to twitter because I couldn’t decide what to do with my flickr account and my blog.
With the recent issues on twitter, I think I’m going to be a lot more active on tumblr. ♡
I’ll start updating this account with my more recent posts, and start posting here more actively after that. ✧
Sorry for the spam of old blog posts~ I was updating/fixing links on my blog last week and I didn't realize that they were all being shared here automatically 😅
