Hope it’s not too late for the WIP Word Guessing Game:
here's one from my medieval codywan au, working title "the prince with his stars, the knight with his scars":
Obi-Wan sighed deeply. He knew it was useless to try arguing with his grandfather about how antiquated the notion was that a monarch couldn't remain single. He understood the importance of having an heir, of course, but his half-brother was right there, with a wife already; Obi-Wan would be perfectly content to let the throne go to Anakin and then to any children Padmé would doubtless bear him in due course. But Anakin had been born out of wedlock, to a woman with no noble blood, and that meant that in the King's eyes — and those of nobles across the kingdom — his line was tainted, unfit for rule.
and one from the next chapter of my very old bobadinluke slowburn in the middle (I'll always come back) that I'm finally trying to get back to after over 2 years oops:
"Sorry to disturb you, Mand'alor," came the voice of one of his guards. "There's someone from your old covert wanting to talk to you privately."
Interesting. He still had his helmet and upper body armor on so he went to open the door. "What about?"
"She didn't say," said the guard. "She gave her name as Fayorn Teda."
He knew the name. Teda had been one of the younger members of the covert, though no longer a child; they'd hardly interacted. "Where is she now?"
