I think we as a fandom regularly forget about laddie. He watched basically his entire family die all in one night. All he had at the end of the movie was an older sister figure and a bunch of strangers he probably was scared to death of.

Just realized that when David torments/flirts with Michael even Laddie joins in with the laughter. He only calls it quits when the blood comes out. That’s why in the deleted scenes, Star was quick to correct Michael with ‘he’s not my little brother’. But not really haha. It does show an interesting dynamic for him, though. He’s quite like his brothers in some ways, he’s a bit more one of them than Star is. Paul tells him to get the rock box, Paul and Dwayne hoist him onto the fountain, they share the food and laugh, Dwayne looks out for him. He does go to and with Star but she’s definitely the outsider.
