Sylus’ eye glows when he’s horny.
It had taken you a little bit to piece that information together, having been too engulfed in him to see the whole picture. Hands and mouths everywhere, clothes shed and sheets nearly pushed entirely off the bed with all of the movement.
You had much more pressing matters to focus on, not quite processing the fact that the aether core in his eye was a burning beacon every time he looked at you.
Though, Sylus had restraint. He kept his emotions on a tight leash, never quite revealing where he was until you had already fallen head first into his carefully placed trap. Except for this time, because even someone like Sylus could suffer from little blunders here and there. “Luke, Kieran, you’re back quite early.”
His voice was gruff, you sat a little ways down from him on the couch, pulling at your clothes to make sure they were in their typical place.
“We accomplished your tasks pronto, boss-man!” Luke plopped down in one of the arm chairs, his proud smile hidden behind his mask. “Yeah, you seemed pretty stressed earlier, so we wanted to take them off your plate real quick.”
Kieran leaned against the back of the chair Luke sat on, both seemingly oblivious to their boss’ frustration. “You’ve got some hard workers, Sy.” You fan the flames, peeking down at his carefully crossed legs. You had been grinding on his lap no less than a minute ago, face hot and lips swollen from his countless kisses.
One glance up and you could see your teeth indents still lingering on his neck. “That… I do.” He dared to glance at you, tips of his ears still red, his eye glowing a near neon crimson. The twins carried on with their ramblings all the while.
You felt a bubble of laughter swelling in your chest, how the twins could be so unaware of their boss’ debauched state was a mystery to you. I mean really, his eye was glowing. The laughter in your chest died as quickly as it threatened to spill.
His eye was glowing?
You felt your face grow hotter, squirming slightly against the cushion as you mulled that one thought over and over in your mind. You stared at him, nearly unblinking, heart pounding. In all the months you had been with him, you had never realized you held such crucial information. Not that you’d ever use it against him in a serious sense.
But oh, Sylus was so impossible to tease. And now? Now you have this.
Of course you wouldn’t dive head first into it, you’d test him first. You needed to see if your hypothesis was correct. If you worked him up, then his aethercore would react? You had to assume that was the case, but you’d feel quite silly if it wasn’t. Maybe it flared up when he was upset, or annoyed? But you had never noticed that in battle…
“Are you okay?” You blink, unaware that Sylus was now staring directly back at you, that damn eye still bright. “No.” zero time to think, and if it meant the twins got out of your hair faster. “Boss-lady isn’t feeling the best, you two. I’ll be taking her to bed…” He struggles to pull his gaze away from you, briefly looking between the twins. “Thank you for handling things so quickly.”
His tone was final, not daring to move from the couch until both boys understood the underlying message and quickly bid you both a good night.
“Someone’s daydreaming.” Sylus murmurs the second they are gone, unfolding his legs just as you crawl back over to him. “More like fantasizing.” You settle again, wiggling against the warmth of his lap before wrapping your arms around his neck.
A soft groan rumbles his chest at the contact, and you see the light flare in his eye. “I’ll remember to give them extra tasks next time.” He leans forward to close the distance, but you can’t help but pull back. Utterly glued to his aethercore, mind reeling with the fact that it so carelessly displays his desires.
Maybe you should be glad it only glows for you…
“Someone is still lost in her head, hmm?” His hands grip your hips, sliding down towards the swell of your ass. “Or is something weighing on her mind?” You mentally curse yourself for being so bad at hiding things from him. The carefully crafted plot to test your theory and use it as a way to tease him was dying right before you.
“Can I ask you something?” You’re moving closer, eyes dragging away from his eye to look at his lips. Lips that are swollen because of you, a sense of pride swelling in your chest. “Anything.”
“Does your aether core… act up when you’re aroused?” He blinks at you, a little stunned before a warm laugh rumbles his chest. “My aether core…” he starts, dragging you impossibly closer. “…allows me to see what others desire. It’s only fair that it can’t help but give away what I desire most.” Your noses brush, breaths mingle.
“It only ever glows for you.”
It’s 2am and I crave pho so bad. But I only have “instant pho” and I want the real shit not the “I didn’t have time to pack lunch for work” kind 🙄 I guess I know what I’m getting for lunch today 😵💫
Oh, to actually be his wife 😢
⇢ The Sea and His Moon
-°• Rafayel falls in love with the Goddess of the moon
-°• Warnings: angst with no comfort
Imagine Rafayel, the God of the Sea, falling for you, the Goddess of the moon.
Imagine you met centuries ago, at a Lemurian summit. It was one of the few times you were granted the ability to leave your perch among the stars.
Imagine you felt an unyielding gaze burning through your skull as you spoke with the other gods in attendance. As you whirl around, your eyes catch those of the Sea God.
Imagine you approach him, inquiring as to why he was staring so long and hard.
“I apologize for my brash behavior, my lady. But I do believe I’ve never seen beauty quite like yours.”
Imagine you instantly fall head over heels. You’d never met someone quite like him. Though, that wasn’t saying much, since you were typically isolated to the sky.
You dance into the depths of the night, only for you to be whisked back into the sky the instant the sun begins to creep back over the sea.
Imagine you only see him from afar; gazing down upon his magnificent form every night. You sit atop the moon, humming hymns of ancient longing.
Imagine he drifts idly among the waves, his eyes fixed on the moon above. He imagines having you down here with him, in his arms, drifting along with him. He fantasizes the way the stars may illuminate your skin as you dance among the surf.
Imagine you may only visit him once in a blue moon; when the sea and the moon become one. On these rare occasions, you’re permitted to join him at sea. He showers you in his love and adoration, his longings manifested in a night of hanging on your every word.
He shows you around his palace as quickly as he can, treating you to delicacies of the ocean. He shows you around the Lemurian markets, the merchants excited to show their wares to the rarely seen goddess.
Imagine as the moon begins to dip below the horizon, you begin to fade from his arms.
“I will see you again, my pearl. Do not fear,” he promises, resisting the urge to cry as you disappear in a plume of stardust. “The sky can’t hold you forever.”
Imagine he can hear your wails as you hang the new moon in the sky the next night.
Imagine his heartache ravages the seas, currents churning and sinking any unfortunate ship he stumbles upon. Hundreds of sailors are lost to his misery, the waters dragging them deeper into his distress.
Imagine your life revolves around him. You tug and pull at his tides, yearning for his presence.
Yet;
You could never have him, cursed to watch on from above.
Forever divided by the horizon that kept the moon from her sea.
Sometimes
Sometimes, Rafayel wants you to hurt. He wants you to feel an inkling, a tiny fraction of the pain you’ve caused him in each and every lifetime. It’s not fair. He gave up everything for you, and you’ve betrayed him again and again. The worst betrayal is you forgetting. How dare you not even hold on to the guilt, the shame, the sadness, the pain, just as he does? How dare you leave him alone in his misery? So sometimes, he wants you to hurt. He wants to say things to twist in the knife, to make you bleed just a few drops of what has gushed out of him every time you interact.
It’s only sometimes though. And each and every time Rafayel feels immediate shame and guilt afterwards. Guilt because he’s supposed to love you. He does love you. So why is it so hard sometimes? Why is it that when you are smiling without a care in the world it both fills his heart with love and venom?
He thinks you don’t notice. He hardly ever acts on these sometimes feelings and even when he does let an unkind word or two slip it’s nothing that couldn’t be chalked up to a lover’s spat. He thinks his pure vitriol is hidden, until one day, where you, seemingly out of nowhere, say, “Sometimes, I think you want me to hurt.” And Rafayel… he doesn’t know what to say. Because sometimes, he really really does.
oh no it hasn't even been five minutes since my last post hoping for him to be a sweetheart silly guy and not booktok material and now the saxophones are getting louder

Rafayel Qi Blurb!
Tasked with the job to deliver a woman to be wedded to the Sea God. Your crew travels the perilous sea to get home.
Captain Non-MC whom fears the Sea God, seeing his Wrath first hand when they were merely a Sailor.
It was a accident.
A poor lemurian being caught in their ships nets for the catch of the day. Your Captain and the sailors lets the creature go, yet, you learned that their begging and pleading did nothing to sway him. As their shouts of mercy are silenced by the waves.
The Sacrifical Bride, unsure of her journey, though accepts her fate. Finding solace with the kind crew and Captain amongst the clashing waters.
She couldn't help but envy the Navigator, his charming smile so carefree. Truly, a man of the wind and sea.
Yet, the Bride merely smiles as he whines to her on how the Captain won't dance with him. The crew singing old melodies of peace and adventure. While you merely gaze to the dark abyss below.
Rafayel waltzes back to your side, singing along as Emcee hums to the beat. Watching him curiously as he grabs your hand, twirling you like a maiden, not a woman hurt by the waters below.
At the moment, he dips you, a small quiet sound was drowned by the waves. Only heard by him as you look into his eyes.
A shy, sweet giggle leaves you.
Until you frown at the sound of tides shifting, his gaze becoming different with waves.
Letting him go, you stumble away. Heading to your bed chambers without another sound. Though ballads drown out your quiet retreat.
The Navigator scoffs, his scowl fading into a dull smile as he eyes the skies ahead. Skin burning as the droplets of cooled swater dribbled down his cheek.
-
"Your God, did this..." You reply, showing your scarred back to the woman. Eyes lifeless as you gaze at the map on the wooden table.
"That.. Is his Mercy." You laugh as your Navigator reaches out his hand. The touch far too warm, methodical. As if a artist admiring his canvas.
The Bride trembles at the sight on your skin, yet offers no words.
"Mercy has a price."
You turn your gaze back to them, bandages safely wrapped as you slip back on your shirt. You smile at her, thanking them for the assistance as you march back outside to the deck.

[Yeah, I was inspired by some Epic the musical, this mainly the Posidean ARC. I thought it'd be funny! Anyway! Thanks for reading! Any comments or suggestions or ideas for a pt2 are welcomed! Hearts reblogs also appreciated!]
