Do you have any tips for someone who wants to make comic pages but doesn't know how?
Phew, this is a bit hard to explain. I do suggest you to get drawing books about it, because they describe in detail how you plan a story, how to create characters and how to put them into a scene.
You totally need to get a feeling for panels (the windows you draw in), constellation of those and check out the speech balloons that they are easy to read in the right order. (This is something I tend to fck up a lot.)
Usually you plan out many pages at once and try to show what’s on your mind bit by bit. Like, there has to be a certain flow you need to follow.
Personally, I just think about:
“Okay, this is this scene. How do I show this the best?”
I do consider what I am able to draw and what not, so it’s even more difficult to show it in a nice way.
Still... it is hard to explain since I consider myself not really good at making comic pages. I’m better at comic strips and panel by panel system... it is less hard and easier to pull of in general.
So maybe start with drawing Comic strips? Like 4 window comics?
I think you will understand the process of creating a comic page better once you can do short comics like that :)
