What if blake comes home after going to a party with yang. Ruby helps her in the house and in the moment blake spouts how much she loves ruby.
“Yang, you definitely let her go overboard.”
Ruby stood outside just as Yang pulled the car into their driveway. She’d texted Ruby ten minutes ago to tell her she’d be taking Blake home to crash at their place tonight and Ruby had come out to meet them.
“What can I say?” Yang shrugged. “Blakey had a rough semester and she deserved to have a few drinks, so I let her.” Yang put the car in park and rolled up the window before getting out. “It’s fine, right? I didn’t have a sip so I could drive us back. See if you can wake her, would ya?”
As Yang strolled up to the front door and went in to start preparing a place for her friend to sleep, Ruby went to the car and opened the passenger’s side door. Blake was buckled in and fast asleep, snoring very quietly.
Ruby chuckled at the sight of her and reached out to gently tap her shoulder.
“Blaaaake~? Can you hear me?” She reached over Blake’s lap to unbuckle the seatbelt. “If you don’t wake up now Yang’s gonna have to sling you over her back and carry you in like a sack of potatoes.”
Blake stirred slightly, Faunus ears flicking.
“Yeah. Yang’s preparing the couch for you now. But she’s gonna be back in a minute to-”
“Huh?” Ruby titled her head. Blake was mumbling to herself but her eyes weren’t open. Ruby shook her shoulder lightly. “I’m Ruby, silly.”
Blake’s eyes fluttered open slightly. A lopsided smile plastered its way onto her lips as her head rolled to one side.
“Good, thanks Ruby... Did you know....?” She trailed off mumbling again.
Ruby giggled and tried to shake her again.
“You’re not making any sense, Blake.” She heard Yang coming back down the driveway, ready to carry Blake back if she couldn’t walk herself. Ruby sighed.
“Well, I tried Blake. Looks like you’re getting carried. Yang’s here.”
“Yang?” Blake slurred again. “Oh good Yang’s here. I have to tell you, Yang. About Ruby.”
“I’m Ruby!” she chuckled.
“Even better.” Blake rolled her head again and tried to lift her hand up for her. “Ruby... tell Ruby I really like her. I like her sooooo mucchhh. Ruby’s cute...”
That clammed Ruby up. She felt her face heat up in a split second.
“Make way, sis.” Yang nudged her aside and reached into the car to hoist Blake into her arms. When she turned around and closed the door with her hip, she found her little sister blushing madly. Yang smirked. “What, don’t tell me she just drunk-confessed or something.”
Ruby squeaked. “N-Nope! I mean... uh...”
“Cute.” Yang winked before heading back inside.
Ruby followed with a skip in her step.
