“Me?”
“Like her?”
“Liking a Schnee?”
“A Faunus?”
Ruby and Yang had been trying to have private conversations with their respective partners on opposite sides of the cafeteria, just to point out the obvious and help them realize their own behavior around one another. But it was only a matter of seconds before Weiss and Blake were raising their voices in abhorrence for all to hear.
“You’re out of your mind, Yang.”
“Ruby, you’re such a dolt.”
“There’s no way-”
“I couldn’t possibly-”
And they both went off rambling, vehemently denying their supposed affections for one another.
“She’s so stuck-up!”
“She’s so broody!”
“Just because she’s pretty-”
“Just because I find her fairly attractive-”
“Doesn’t mean I like her!”
They each finished with the same outraged accusation, shoved their chairs away from the tables, and stormed away from their partners. And they just so happened to storm off and meet each other in the center of the room.
“Weiss, you’re never going to believe this-”
“Blake, you have no idea what nonsense Ruby was just spouting-”
The whole cafeteria watched them walk off together, chatting about how insane their partners were.
They came back ten minutes later holding hands, adamantly silencing each of the sisters’ triumphant comments.
