Actually, if Cas sleeps with someone else, that could be another use of an old trope. Person 1 doesn’t realise that they love Person 2, until Person 2 sleeps with Person 3 and jealousy sets in…

If Cas sleeps with a MAN this would work EVEN BETTER for Dean/Cas, no? ;)

Huh. I remember there being much more about it than that one line. Maybe I HAVE been influenced by fanon on this... because that doesn't really say for sure that Dean stopped talking, just that he experienced a trauma and thus relates to the kid, so he understands the DESIRE not to talk.
