and can you imagine their chemistry while they're fighting
percy & his dad will be like bros and they'll attack in sync and all and poseidon will be all "nice one, son!" and percy will blush cause he's not good with compliments especially from his dad
and jason would be really awkward and tense around his dad cause he's never met him and he doesn't know how to act and jupiter isn't exactly the most fatherly father
and annabeth wouldn't even talk to her mum cause of that whole fight they had and athena's either going to be trying to find a way to apologise without losing her pride or she's still gonna be schizophrenic and annoying
and leo's gonna start being snarky to the giant and hephaestus is going to be really confused cause he just doesn't understand his sense of humour at all
and hazel will be all nervous because she's supposed to be dead and she'd be worried that after the battle pluto's gonna claim her and she'll go back to the underworld but she doesn't want that she wants to be with frank
and piper's going to be half focused on fighting and half amazed because she didn't think aphrodite was one to get her hands dirty in a battle but there she is bombarding the giant with a flock of angry doves
and frank's just gonna be really unsure of how to act cause he still doesn't really know how he feels about his dad in general and mars will be all "come on, kid, get in there!"
The reasoning behind me thinking Izzy/Simon/both with not make it through CoHF
*Spoilers for TMI and TID*
Ok so Cassie's confirmed we are gonna get 6 deaths in CoHF of character's we know the names of and there's been some pretty heavy hints that at least one of the deaths is going to be one of... do they have a name? I'm just gonna call them "the 6" (ie. Clary, Jace, Izzy, Simon, Alec, Magnus)
So really this theory is based off two assumtions
At least one of the deaths will be one of "the 6"
Clace will have a happy ending
And I think Clace will end up happy A) because the story is centred around "love conquers all" in a way and I think Cassie will carry that through and B) I think we were all quite pleasantly surprised by the cheeriness of the ending of TID so optimistic me is hoping TMI will go the same way.
So if Clace are getting their happy ending that leaves Izzy, Simon, Magnus and Alec.
I'm also pretty sure Malec are going to have a nice ending. We all know that Cassie's been awesome in bucking the trends for LGBTQ characters so I don't think she'd want to go the route of killing off either of them as just one example of the discrimination is that since 1993, 16.5% of Ocsar nominated portrayals of straight characters have ended up dead as opposed to 56.5% of LGBTQ.
And while I appreciate that is a pretty weak argument for Malec surviving, I just have a gut feeling too. After the heartbreak at the end of CoLS I think the fandom needs some happy Malec (and Cassie has promised us a lot of Alec and Magnus!)
Which leaves us with Simon and Izzy,
I'm pretty 50/50 split on whether Simon's going although O'm leaning towards that he'll make it through. Going back to Clace having a happy ending, I think that would happen best if Simon survived; Simon is one of the people Clary loves most in the world and I wonder if maybe loosing him would be too bigger loss to give a happy ending? Then again, Simon's death would nicely tie up any loose ends with the immortality but maybe that would be cheating, also with all the stuff with Jem that we're going to see in CoHF, who knows?
So we're left with Izzy who's death, story-wise, would work very well. She's close enough to Clary to create a big impact with her death but not so essential to Clary that it would hold up the pace of the book/ ruin Clace's happy ending; obviously Jace would be pretty distraught but he was raised a shadowhunter and so i don't think Izzy dying would affect him quite so servery as Simon's death would Clary.
And lastly, if Izzy or Simon or both died, it would fit with Cassie's little teasers of "ships being ruined" and "a couple staying separated"
So that was my long winded explanation as to why. The question: Am I prepared has a much shorter answer.
