To Your Health | Sigyn & Jane

Jane held Thanner's hand as they got out of the hired car and headed into the clinic. Especially since she'd stopped working with S.H.I.E.L.D., the scientist seldom took 'hired cars' anymore. But today was different - Thanner wasn't feeling well and Jane didn't want to deal with parking in the city or taking a sick kid onto public transit. 

She had him all bundled up, star scarf and all, and a little red puffy down jacket that was quite warm. Jane was a bit chilly in her sweater...but she was hardly focused on that. 

Thanner was such a well-behaved kid, so she was especially aware of his crankiness and overall miserable state. 

"Don't worry, kiddo. The doctor will fix you right up. She's the best," Jane reassured her son.

"Madre." The word lingered like saltwater, brutal and unforgiving on her broken lips. The woman had been with her father since before even her birth and Hel had never been one to mind informal titles such as 'step-mother' or 'half' sibling. Family meant too much to her to make distinctions and variations. Like a small child hiding behind it's mother's skirts, the gýgr inched back then forth in precarious motions that eventually halved the distance between them.
