Euro Obs II: When In Rome

So for various reasons I currently find myself in Rome, which is an amazing city with loads of wonderful things in it, but let's be honest that's not why you're here, is it? So without further ado:

1. At the table opposite me in a very nice cafe was an Italian woman in maybe her mid-fifties, very short and quite stocky with a round face, very dark brown hair pulled back into a bun and thick horn-rimmed glasses, and rather severe drawn-on eyebrows. Her nose was quite big, but in proportion to her face, slightly upturned with wide nostrils. She was chatting to her friends when suddenly she stopped, screwed up her eyes and let loose an enormous scream of a sneeze into the crook of her arm. Her friends laughed and teased her about it - evidently this was something that happened often - while she got a packet of tissues out of her handbag. This was when things got interesting; she was peeling the packet open when she screwed her eyes up again and her breath started to hitch, and she had to get a tissue out of the packet by feel while clearly struggling mightily to control her sneeze, nostrils flaring and breath hitching until she finally got the tissue out and clamped it to her nose just in time. Even stifled the sneeze was huge and obviously productive, because she needed to blow afterwards. After that she stuffed the tissue back into her bag and carried on as if nothing had happened. I don't really like scream sneezes, but that amazing build-up more than made up for it.

2. I was queuing to get into a little viewing platform at the Colosseum behind an enormous woman in a striped rugby shirt with blonde hair in a loose ponytail. I never saw her face unfortunately, but at one point she said in a broad South African accent 'my nose doesn't like this pollen' and blew her nose hugely in a big blue tartan handkerchief. Sadly no sneeze but a great blow and a great look at her enormous ass in very tight trousers

3. We were watching the Ireland v Wales rugby match and one of the other fans watching was an Irish girl, short and quite chubby with long brown hair and a cute upturned nose, wearing a lot of fake tan. She was very funny and bubbly and was great fun to watch the game with, but the best contribution she made was when she had some very spicy pasta and it clearly didn't agree with her nose, because she started to sneeze and couldn't stop. It wasn't an especially interesting sneeze, a sort of 'IIIISH!' but each one was punctuated with a high-pitched intake of breath, and occasionally a comment like 'Oh god' or 'I can't stop' in an adorable Dublin accent. Even after she finished the fit she would still sneeze occasionally, and sat for a bit just holding her nose with a napkin, and continued to sniffle and blow for the rest of the evening.

Please ignore this question, I can't work out how to get rid of it 🙃

So I recently saw the movie Mercy, a fun and silly little crime thriller about a dystopian future where all crimes are judged by a sophisticated AI. The judge in this case was Maddox, the Platonic ideal of a Severe Woman, and as we all know, Severe Women must Sneeze Severely (I spent pretty much the whole time she was onscreen fantasising about her sneezing send help). And that, of course, is where the wonderful @nametakensff comes in with this incredible commission. AI is much more palatable when it's a scary Swedish judgebot who's been programmed to have a cold. Thank you so much NT <3 <3 <3

@nametakensff is at it again, this time with Hanako Arasaka from Cyberpunk 2077. I'm starting to think I might be slightly TOO into 'terrifying icy corporate princess with a heavy cold', but then I also like them with hay fever, so... 🙃 That lipstick and eyeshadow tho. Thank you so much NT ❤️

Oh, Dedra my beloved. Still weird, still so very full of snot, though she'll feel better now she's finally managed to blow her nose. The always wonderful @nametakensff said they particularly enjoyed the mess in this one, and I can see why. She still looks SO congested despite the amount of gunk she's managed to get out. So we all know and love the 'super-tough merciless corporate ice-queen who refuses to admit she has a cold' trope. It's a classic for a reason.

But what about 'super-tough merciless corporate ice-queen who LEANS INTO the fact that she has a cold?' She appears on a Teams meeting (she's not coming in, you don't want to catch this) visibly dripping with cold, no makeup, fluffy slippers on, tissue stuffed up her bright-red nose, messy hair, seemingly taking a perverse pride in how feeble and snotty she sounds and not bothering to mute the mic every time she sneezes, which she does often, completely unrestrained into a big handful of tissues.

Another amazing @nametakensff commission, this time a sick and sneezy President Rosalind Myers from Cyberpunk 2077. Tough as nails, assault rifle-wielding ex-military-subcon MILF who spends most of your time interacting with her crouched down in a tight white pantsuit, who I've arbitrarily decided has a huge sneeze she rarely gets to let loose properly? Severe women, and I cannot stress this enough, sneezing severely. Thank you so much NT, you're the best <3
