While it’s not like Gem has never been thrust into similar situations where she was expected to know a lot more than she did before (first diplomatic assembly of the Empires as the Monarch of Dawn, she’s looking at you), this is certainly the most high-stakes and dangerous of them. That don’t die weighs heaviest of all; sure, GeminiSlay is a name known and feared throughout Hermit lands, but at least on Hermitcraft when you die it doesn’t ultimately matter. Here, Gem has this bone-deep certainty that death is going to hurt. At least she’s not the only one who’s new here. (During Episode 6 of Limited Life SMP, Gem takes advantage of the break time to spend some time with her fellow substitute player, Lizzie.)
