I know about Theodora and Maria Theresa, I used the term 'queens' since most of them /are/ queens and it sounded better fitting to my post at the time than 'female rulers', the description seemed to long like that and it was a simple call of aesthetics, plus I didn't know so many people would be bothered by it... And Cleopatra wasn't a pharaoh; Hatshepsut, however, was. Cleopatra was simply an Egyptian queen. And Isabella of Castille was also a queen, not an empress.
Shocked that you took the time to answer. Isabela I think can go either way since Spain at the time was very much an Empire as empires are defined. Styling oneself a Queen in that case is a matter of personal choice, but she did rule an Empire along side her husband.
Queen as a term gets thrown around a lot when Queen isn't exactly the correct word and in some cases downgrades the rulers using it.
I could have sworn Cleo was a pharaoh, but I'll admit to being wrong on that one. Egyptian and Roman history can be hard to keep straight as to who gets called what.
I also kind of see you as Margaery! And a mixture of Amy and Clara from Doctor Who, you're as clever and endlessly kind and witty and and sweet as both of them are!
OH MY GOD MATEJA.
I’m crying a bit, this just made my entire day. Thank you thank you thank you! <3
