Isaiahhad finished his shift a little bit more than an hour ago, but had decided tostay since it was raining outside and he did not want to walk back to his motelroom in the rain. The werewolf was sitting in front of the bar, on a stool, andhad already drank a few glasses of whiskey. Enough to make the bartender grinin amusement, probably aware that he was spending his entire night’s paycheckon drinks tonight. A little bit tipsy, the blond man was scanning the room, observing the girls dancing and the men catcalling them. Even with a fairamount of alcohol in his blood, he was still not stupid enough to act likethis.
Or at least he thought so. Until his eyesmet her. Pale skin, blonde hair…Whatwas she doing here? Isaiah felt instantly nervous. Had Bella really decided topay him a visit to the Bad Kitty to see how the girls would react if she wasaround? No… He was probably just hallucinating. Or he had too much. He finishedhis whiskey, barely feeling the liquid as it slid down his throat, and when thebartender asked him if he wanted another one, Isaiah opened his mouth toanswer, but instead he jumped off his stool. Something else had caught hisattention.
A few steps away, a drunk man was harassingBella. Isaiah’s cheeks turned red, butnot from blushing this time. He was furious, and maybe a little bit jealoustoo. Quickly, he walked to meet the duo, snapping at the man with a trembling, angered voice. “Don’t touch her.” He had not turned to face the blonde vampire yet,and instinctively wrapped his arm around her waist, pushing her againsthimself. “If you touch her again I’ll fucking break your neck, okay?” Hepointed at the man, before turning to look at the girl he was holding, leaning in to kiss her. Hisexpression turned from soft to terrified, and he stepped back, releasing herfrom his grip. He had almost kissed her.
“Oh fuck…I’m sorry…I…” He could not reallytell her that he had mistaken her for Bella. He knew that Bellamy did not likeher, and chances were high that she did not like her either. “I think I had alittle bit too much…” He whispered, walking away quickly. At the bar, he couldhear the bartender yelling his name, telling him not to forget to pay for hisdrinks.
