Alignment, Beverage, and Law for all of your sylvari!
alllrighty THESE are under cut bc it got long hello
Alignment :: What would be their D&D alignment? How might it come into play? (im not the best with d&d SO im just going to wing it from what i know)
Rio is defo Neutral Good and probably try to be a mediator/ease ppl into doing the better option without actually impressing her desire on others.
Saoirse is Chaotic Neutral and would bounce around either being very high strong about doing something 'right' then turn around and make an underhanded gesture if she felt it was the simplest way of getting the job done.
Laelonie is Neutral Neutral and just SHRUGS whatever who cares if it's bad or good let's just get going. She'd rush through everything and not pay attention to the sidings and get on everyone's nerves because of it.
Caisael is very Chaotic Good. She tries to do good how she sees it but does it in pretty shady ways. She doesn't mind getting her hands dirty and making some deals as long as she thinks she and the group came out ahead.
Beverage :: What do they most like to drink, and why?
Rio would be a hot chocolate drinker for sure. She likes warm, sweet things and since she lived at the Priory for a while, she started to really enjoy that sort of thing. It reminds her of the Priory and exploring ruins with friends and sitting on the bridge overlooking the pass. The cold never really bothered her but it still made her feel better after hanging outside in the snow.
Saoirse would chug energy drinks like no one's business. She likes being alert and she'd be all about drinks that make her jittery and awake, though she probably has the worst crashes from this and has to lay down for an hour before she can handle anything.
Laelonie likes the nectar drinks you get at the Grove but she doesn't have them very often because she's never AT the Grove. I think part of her enjoys sweeter things and I always imagined the nectar drink would be sweet and sort of honey-like. Plus she has a soft spot for sylvari things since she's never around other sylvari so she usually jumps when she sees sylvari made goods.
Caisael is cactus juice all the way no substitutes. She lives in the Dry Top, she has her own town in the Dry Top, there probably isn't a lot of alternatives in the Dry Top. Plus who doesn't want to have cactus juice am i right? Best drink 20/20 no exceptions.
Law :: What do they think about abiding rules? Are they selective about it?
Rio is totally a rule follower. She isn't someone who'd get upset if someone broke the rules (like small ones), but she'd start getting uncomfortable since she thinks things like that are there for a reason. If pressed, she'd stretch some rules to her favor but usually she just sticks to them.
Saoirse's middle name is selective. She picks and chooses which rules she thinks are important or relevant then skims over the rest. This is why she had such a hard time in the Vigil. She doesn't like following orders or rules, she wants to do things her way.
Laelonie is also selective but in a more subtle way. She isn't above breaking laws if it means she gets something good out of it, but she also realizes it's just a hassle to deal with. She tries to stay under the radar so to speak so she can get away with bending more rules than outright breaking them.
Caisael has a complicated relationship with rules. She technically hasn't lived in a 'lawful' society in years. Each settlement in the Dry Top seems to have it's own set of laws since they work independently for the most part. Caisael has her own town out there so in a sense, she's the one making the rules, but she doesn't really enforce them since the town is so small. There's maybe like 4 ppl including herself there as of now so it's hard to have heavy set rules. She's like Laelonie when she's out in places like the Grove or Lion's Arch. She flies under the radar and bends rules and makes some questionable deals for supplies and isn't above running out on a check. She gets that rules are there but she's kind of lost touch with the need for them. She's more of a take the law into your own hands kind of lady.
“Are you really going to Orr?” Laelonie asked. She didn’t look up when she spoke and talked into the notebook in her lap. She scribbled something down before crossing it out hard enough Marni could the pencil scrape across the paper. She wanted to tell her to just rip the page out and start clean but the last time she had, Laelonie told her it was a waste to get rid of the space she hadn’t used yet. Marni imagined the notebook was full of deep, gray scratch out lines and half-finished trains of thought that weaved into diagrams of buildings and streets with awkward shapes that were like the gray oval people Laelonie had showed her once. She worried about her need to keep things cramped and compact. She didn’t want to think of where Laelonie lived and the clutter that would probably be.
Marni wrinkled her nose and shook her head, the pin in her hair jingling as she did. “No?”
She leaned her hip against the stack of timber Laelonie sat on and crossed her arms and ankles as she did. Her elbows pressed into the moist wood and made a note to mention to the dock manager the wood was going to waterlog if it sat out much longer. The dock manager was a nice enough norn – good at projecting his voice across the street to call her over when she passed. He knew her mother and would ask how she was doing and if she could pass on the latest shipments of supplies to her. He stroked the braids in his orange beard when he talked and leaned down when he spoke to make sure she heard her. She kept forgetting to write down his name so she could address him directly – something with a B: Beo-something.
“That guild thing you’re doing,” Laelonie clarified, bobbing her leg over her knee. The metal plate on her heel gleamed murky blue and was scratched, like she’d been running across gravel.
“I doubt it’d be there – that’s Pact stuff or whatever is out there.”
“You’re looking for the Scepter of Orr.”
“The dragon would have it if it were there.”
Laelonie scribbled something out and shook her head. Her pencil moved like she was trying to keep the tip in place and form a circle around it. Marni made a note to get her a map compass for Wintersday. Last year she’d gotten her a pouch to keep her notebook in so she wouldn’t lose it running around the Mist War. She had it strapped to her belt and stuck a blue, leaf-shaped hairpin through the leather top somehow. She wondered why she hadn’t gone for a pin with a lightning bolt on it since she’d grown fond of sparks after buying Mystic Pistols with her first few paychecks.
“Where are you going then?”
Marni shrugged and looked across the pathway towards the beach. The Priory tent’s outline stuck out against the ocean, the flags snapping in the wind. A lantern hung from one of the rods of the tent and shined a hazy yellow.
“No plan?” Laelonie pressed, her voice drawing out in an almost sing-song manner.
“There’s something.”
Laelonie scrunched the side of her mouth and glanced up – yellow eyes glowing in the dimmed light before ebbing with the rest of her blue glow. She never got used to how her eyes would glow along with the rest of her body. They always seemed sharper when they glowed and she didn’t blink as often as Marni thought she should.
“I’m not the one in charge,” she said, shrugging. She shifted her weight and pressed her back against the stack of wood, leaning her head back to look at Laelonie.
“I’m not following you to Orr,” Laelonie snorted.
“There’s already a thief in the guild.”
Laelonie laughed without opening her mouth, the sound coming more from her nose than her throat. She flattened the notebook across her lap, stippling something in the center of the two pages before turning to another. The pages crinkled and she had to pause to push loose papers back into place. Marni craned her neck to get a look but Laelonie shifted away, turning the cover to face her instead. In the two years Marni knew her, she’d carried the same dirt brown notebook and kept it to herself like it were a diary – which Marni knew it wasn’t. She suspected it was logs and lists and makeshift maps she’d seen on smaller sheets Laelonie had given her before.
“I think this’ll flop.” She pulled flop out of her mouth like it was a lollipop, popping her lips around it. “I hope you didn’t pay up front.”
“I don’t pay until I see a map,” Marni assured. She doubted Pounff would ask her to pay anything – they didn’t seem the type to. She’d gone in thinking of funding the guild but the longer she thought on not having a lead as to where to go, she more she was glad she didn’t speak up about being a benefactor.
“They don't even have a map?” She shook her head again and tisked under her breath.
“You’re one to talk,” Marni pointed out.
Laelonie’s face dropped and she looked back at her notebook, dashing something out. The wooden indents in her face moved like she was chewing something – Marni hoped it wasn’t her tongue. The line cut slanted across her lips moved as she pursed her lips, widening the tighter she pressed.
“I know where to look, you don’t. Sounds like a safer bet than going without any idea where to go.”
“True enough,” Marni conceded, brushing her fingers across her mouth. She tapped her cheek and looked out towards the black water. The lantern lights from the city spotted the water white and yellow. “Think of it if we do find it though.”
“You can’t even use scepters.”
Marni waved her off, “That scepter is worth the Krytan throne ten times over. I could buy the Black Lion and Consortium and still have enough left over to buy all of Kryta if I wanted! I could own Lion’s Arch and be Commodore.”
“Buy me a ship and crew,” she deadpanned.
“Fine, I’ll even throw in Bolt for a ship warming present.”
Laelonie laughed, closing her notebook. She propped her head on her palms and looked down at Marni, her eyes pulsing in time with the tide brushing up against the shore. “Will your guild go for that, Commodore?”
Marni shrugged, brushing blonde strands from her eyes and behind her ear. “What else would we do with it?” Laelonie scrunched the side of her mouth again but shrugged as well. “I have a plan.”
Sahir’s favorite outfit would be a dark red robe-like top with a lot of ornate metal pieces in different kinds of circular patterns and dark slacks with probably dark shoes. He’s the kind of guy who likes appearing very sophisticated and he loves looking the part of Minister wherever he goes.
25: What time of year does your OC prefer?
Alessa likes the fall and winter the most. She does better in cooler weather. Plus she likes Halloween and Wintersday a lot so those are during that time of the year.
Laelonie likes the summer a lot. She likes warm water and sitting on docks watching boats sail out of Lion’s Arch.
Riognach also likes the winter especially for the snow. She loves sitting outside and watching it fall especially at night where the lights reflect off it so it’s brighter out.
31: Does your OC believe in fairies?
Tinnta doesn’t but if you find one you should send it her way so she can investigate the matter further.
