Stevie: A Life in the Key of Songs at Brooklyn Academy of Music
Full gallery available on my website.
On Friday, May 15, 2026, the second night of Stevie: A Life in the Key of Songs took place at Brooklyn Academy of Music in Brooklyn, NY. The series was a three night celebration of the music and life of Stevie Wonder: as one person put it, they were giving him his flowers while he is still around to receive them.
The first show on Thursday, May 14th concentrated on the albums Music of My Mind and Talking Book, while night 2 was Innervisions and Fulfillingness' First Finale. The third night on Saturday, May 16th was Songs in the Key of Life and all three nights were presented by PoetWarrior Productions and the Black Rock Coalition under the direction of Darrell M. McNeil and LaFrae Sci.
I documented the second night for BAM and images from this evening can be found in the gallery on my website. All three nights were reviewed by Matthew Allen for The New York Amsterdam News titled “Black Rock Coalition Honors Stevie Wonder’s Classic Albums at BAM Shows”, which features three of my images.
