2010 Lagar do Merens from Ribeiro in the Galicia region of northwestern Spain. It's an aged white wine that expresses well its full body, well rounded balance of apple, peach and oak, structured and long finish. Because of its structured full body, it was paired with a piece of steak and the pairing worked really well. It had no trouble standing up to the flavor of the red meat. An aged good quality full body white wine is not as easy to come by since most white wines are consumed when young, so it was a real treat to come across this bottle. Only 2270 bottles were made, and this was the 2266th bottle!
