"I’m not guilty!"

for my muse’s reaction to yours tracing one of their scars.
ironically, isaac doesn’t know what he’s touching. nor does he note the blankness derek’s just hung in, stony, a little cold beneath the wrap of skin, a breath away from tangible, yet unreal. muscles; good for nothing. isaac babbles on, fazed within quips his tone suggests to seem funny, as though comprehensible merely to those with enough wit. isaac doesn’t know what he’s touching. derek does, and it tickles. pleasantly. were flaws an option, derek’s physique would be ripped with them, all fleshly and nicely designed, all memories of a number too high sewn up in a pulsating package.good thing he couldn’t ever forget one, happy or not. isaac quietens. gets something, but never moves his hand, because derek isn’t squirming under discomfort; just tauter than accustomed routines dictate, bordering on a decision. no point in lying. and truth? it’s more pathetic than moving, really — his throat embraced by the noose he thought to have torn. two of his fingers drum against isaac’s where they’re hooked at the shoulder. isaac takes it as a warning, even though it isn’t, which derek won’t point out, and ceases the touch.he shrugs, never minding, and if, it stings little. “one day, when i was ten, i think, laura and me were playing hide and seek,” he says like it’s trivial, and it should be, “and i chased her. always chased her. we didn’t switch roles, she wasn’t a good seeker. i was running after her because she never respected the rules, so i didn’t, either, and i tripped over my ankle. got my shoulder cut.” he shrugs again. “what were you saying?” everything transfers into disbelief at witnessing isaac’s half-smile that he marks as rare, at experiencing this — not breaking, but melting point of sorts. odd. at the edges blue seeps unto azure; isaac this close to goading with a softness arranged strangely, and derek’s posture indicates imminent violence that has to do with the other’s curls and scissors meeting tête à tête, should any derivations of “sappy” emerge voiced. “i said your windows needed some water. barely see through them —- ever have them cleaned?” clever boy.
◆ scent
send me ◆ and a sense and i'll write you a thing based on that sense
some would say she has an obsession.
she tends to them. she cooks with them. & now she smells like them.
when she bathes, she bathes in apples. scrubs her skin and washes her hair until everything about her smells like just a hint of fresh fruit. there's something underlying though, something beneath that is distinctly her. tasteful, and clean, everything you'd expect a queen to be in more ways than just appearance. to her, it smells like autumn. to her, it smells like royalty. to her, it smells like danger.
for she is. dangerous, of course.
and she takes that reputation very seriously. dark, dark clothes and a malicious grin, it's only right that the scent matches the sight and she smiles, head canting as a blood painted lip slips between white, white teeth.
an apple a day keeps the queen at bay.

[ 71 minutes spent cleaning the entire kitchen during his father's absence, Jason Lahey was well & truly strung out. His hands ached-- knuckles desperately sought tension's relief, and he indulged the need with cautious cracking. On days like these, the teenager couldn't help but feel as if he were some kind of sick, twisted Cinderella story. Trapped within the confines of a broken home, he was a slave to the father who bore him no good favour-- The stark difference from the fairytale being the darkened, purple bruises littering across pale, milky white skin.
Cinderella never got hit. Cinderella never got beaten within an inch of her l i f e .
A heady sigh exhaled; Jason returned the cleaning utensils to beneath the sink. And just as well-- because the unfamiliar interruption of a knocking on the front door immediately drew his attention.
No one ever visited the Laheys. Subconsciously, everyone just knew it wasn't a place to spend one's free time; & it certainly wasn't a place to seek safety.
Curiosity piqued, Jason moved towards the resounding noise. But nothing could've prepared him for what lay beyond that door. Nothing could've warned him ]

[ Eyebrows raised and eyes as wide as saucers, he drank in the appearance of a teenager who looked almost completely identical to him. What the fuck was going on?! ]
