Just a small altercation I’ve had in my head for a while between my trash baby, Laiynra, and another courtier. Figured after too much some editing this little snippet was the best it was going to get.

(Is v short Kitty, don’t get your hopes up.)

The irate Knight came storming up to Laiynra, nearly shaking with anger. Lai simply turned to him, one eyebrow raised.

“Lord Siyani put you in charge of the camp in his absence?! You’re barely out of being a Squire! I’ve been a Knight for over a year now, and I'm the next highest in rank – I’m the one who should be in charge while Lord Siyani is away!” He gestured angrily, barely able to keep his rage contained. Lai passively watched him vent.

“And you’re just a sapling still! How long is it since you came out of the pod and left the Tree?! Not even five years I’d guess!” And yet, Lai thought to himself, still more competent than you.

Lai allowed the other knight to vent for a minute, patiently waiting for the tirade to end as a small crowd gathered, until finally the knight hissed out “-you were only given charge of the camp because you sleep with him.” With that, Laiynra decided he had had enough.

Lai smiled blankly, then flicked his fingers in the other sylvari’s direction, freezing the furious courtier where he stood. He stepped up to the frozen Knight, and reached out his hand to let his fingertips trail gently along the side of the Knight’s cheek.

“Oh my sweetest dear, I don’t think you understand.”  His words were quiet, but his eyes were alight with hatred and malice. “While the true master is away, he has decreed that this is my house.” He reached into the frozen sylvari’s leafy hair and grabbed a handful of it. “Let me show you why…”
