The high rideable mountainpasses open around end of June but there are plentyof other beautiful areas to visit. But let me tell you something about the lake on the picture. Will you join me for a tour next year? 😉 Lake of Brienz: Lake Brienz lies nestled between the Emmental and Bernese Alps in the Swiss canton of Bern. Its steep shores also continue below the water level, so that there are hardly any shallow water zones. The Aare flows through the lake. In addition, a large number of smaller streams flow into the lake. Notable are the Giessbach Falls, which plunge into Lake Brienz in fourteen stages. Lake Brienz is low in nutrients and one of the cleanest lakes in Switzerland. The fishing yields are therefore not very high, but the Lake Brienz fish, especially the Egli, are considered a regional delicacy. There has been a passenger shipping service on the lake since 1839. Today BLS AG operates a fleet of five ships, including the Lötschberg paddle wheel steamer built in 1914. The lake is also home to the ship Lord Baden Powell of the Swiss Scout Movement, also known as the Täggelibock.
