I’m always so impressed by bird behaviour like their brains don’t weight more than a couple of grams and have more personality than some humans I know.

Here it is! I made some fanart for @letmetellyouaboutmyfeels​​’ lovely fic “even steel blades need fire”. Go read it, it is super sweet!

Fist of all, I want to thank you all for your patience. This piece took longer than expected, but I am so happy with the results. I had planned on doing a painting of Geralt, but I ran out of paint and had to shift gears because I could not in good conscience go out to buy paint or even buy it online during the lockdown. So I made a title card (?) for the fic by combining traditional painting and digital painting (which was really fun). Also, have a red Dragon Jaskier as a bonus!

OK, hear me out... - a Witcher corvid!AU

Corvids aka the crow family are super intelligent birds with complex social behaviors and they TOTALLY fit with the witcher characters.

here is Jaskier as a Jay. Each of his outfits are represented by a subspecies of the jay bird + birb jaskier doodles.

the deep blue outfit in episode two could be the unicolored jay

the eurasian jay ou the canada jay for his brown/neutral toned outfit in episode four and later the white throated magpie jay for his party outfit.

his blue outfit in episode five is (of course) the blue jay

and his red outfit, the greyhound jay.... but in red (?)
