It's a shame that so few people in the fandom talk about this quest ("The Final Trial"), or at least these two lines of dialogue.

The quest does an excellent job of showing why Lambert is the way he is. It gives us insight into his worldview, his values, and what he believes he is owed after what Destiny has taken from him (even though he openly claims not to believe in it).

I also think it would be interesting to analyze this quest alongside "Following the Thread", since he mentions drinking alone earlier (Geralt doesn't ask him about it, which is a shame [*1]), and we know how important Aiden was to him. Perhaps it was the loss of friends like Aiden (and Coën?) that made him even more cynical and sarcastic than he is in the books (at least to me it seems so).

This particular quest, however, also shows why he dislikes Vesemir and deliberately avoids him. Lambert is his Child of Surprise, and I’ve never seen anyone mention it in fanfics or posts.

They have officially announced a third season AND a second Anime movie! Yay!

Vesemir! We finally get to see him and he looks awesome!!

I adore this so so so much. Nivellen looks amazing and they really did pick the perfect actor for him. Also, we now know where Ciri's dress came from.

Poor Jaskier. I'm am so heartbroken for him and yet very intrigued. The bard whumpers must be salivating! 🤣

And maybe we get some squirrel action. I'm so excited!

Random, late night thought...I've seen a lot of stories and headcanons that Vesemir tends to bee hives at Kaer Morhen during the year so the wolves can have sweets.

Now, add in the love for honey cakes from Nightmare Of The Wolf and that takes on a new dimension. But do the pups know about their father figure's addiction for honey cakes? What do they do if/when they find out? Is it Jaskier that figures it out?

And added sweet heartbreak....Ves has always made the sweet confections for his pups but not eaten them himself because he wants the boys to have as much enjoyment as they can.

The Winter after they realise? They each surprise him with a cake, each of them finding their favourite version of it from the area they normally patrol and giving it to him for a Midwinter gift. (Spelled to be fresh)

He doesn't cry...but it's a close thing.

Ha ha ha ha! Okay, so my BFF drew this for me a while back, she was inspired by something on Pinterest I believe, and I decided to scan it in, clean it up and colour it. The best part? All of the colours I used were pulled from actual games images of the characters themselves. Yes, even Lambert’s hair. It was a warm kinda sunset image but I am NOT complaining in the slightest that he came out a tiny bit red. It works too well.

And for random context, we are both slightly obsessed with the idea of Kaer Morhen puppy piles so that is what brought about this image. Puppy piles need to be a thing in the next season, just saying. I want to hug them all!!

Yes, I know, another silly FaceApp post but it amuses me! (Sorry it's not Eskel!)

With all the thirst going around about young!Vesemir, I was thinking about the person we know REALLY had a thing for him....to the point of becoming a collector of all things Witcher in his memory.

It's game canon that Mignole and Vesemir got it on when she was a young woman, to the point that her father immediately married her off when he found out. And I wish older Mignole and Vesemir would have had another meeting, it would have been so sweet.

But, imagine if you will, these two young things seeing each other and making eyes at one another.

I think we can all understand her being a little bit captivated. 😁

Watching the teasers and trailers for Nightmare of the Wolf and I swear I can SEE the avalanche of Vesemir stories that are coming. Young, cheeky, sarcastic Vesemir. Gods, the fic fodder!
