Review: Super Ox Wars by Lamasoft for iOS: The makers of Gridrunner return in Super Ox Wars. The game is mostly accompanied by mooing noises, but don’t let that turn you off to this game. Basically like a lot of our iOS shooters, you move your ship around and dodge bullets. Dragging your finger up, goes up. You can drag left, right and down as well. You may see some Easter Eggs in this game as a visual treat. Ships from many different 8-bit games do show up as enemies. Basically, your in an enemy base, avoid turrets, barriers, collect life power ups, and the blue stars and red hearts are important. Collecting many of one star color allows for a powered up shot, or a burst in a star shaped or heart shaped format. Boss is at the end of the run.

Fun Factor: Factor 9: The mooing noises have no place in this game, I feel adds to the fun.

Multiplayer Factor: Factor 1: None.

Ease of Play: 7: Not so easy to beat. The more you play, the more skilled you get.

Overall Score: 63 out of 1000: If your a fan of retro shooters, this is worth a download. Where’s my quarters at?!

Review: Gridrunner for iOS, Commodore 64, Vic-20, Amiga, Atari - 8-bit, Atari ST, Dragon 32/64, ZX Spectrum, and Android. ( via donation-ware on lamasoft’s site. ) by Lamasoft. : Gridrunner is a game similar to centipede. Move your ship up, down, left, and right by moving your finger on the screen upon your ship. You only shoot up, however power ups can make you shoot a shot in every direction, even make you invincible for a time. Shoot the centipede type creature, avoid the ships on the bottom left, shooting to the right. No shrooms to change that centipedes like thing’s course, complete destruction of the centipede type creature results in a level clear, and an extra life. The iOS and android apps have a endurance mode, ( start at level 6. ) pure mode, ( start at level 1 ) and casual mode. ( pure mode with continues. ) By rotating the tablet left or right switches to the Vic-20 or Commodore 64 version.

Fun Factor: Factor 10: Quite a lot of explosions on screen. True arcade style for iOS.

Multiplayer Factor: Factor 1: Just high scores.

Ease of play: 9: Pick up and play. No story, no skills to remember.

Overall Score: 90 out of 1000: Arcade style game with ICADE support, may be an older game, but the quarters be a pumping tonight!
