The world practically turned upside down even more after Joshua and Eruca had met again and he had found out that he was going to be a father. What seemed like a simple war of invasion turned out to be something much bigger. The Demon King of legend had possessed Prince Lyon of Grado and him and his troops were going around Magvel destroying all the Sacred Stones in each country since that was the only thing that could stop him.

Eirika and Ephraim’s army always seemed to be one step behind and there were many casualties along the way, one especially important to Joshua. His mother, betrayed by a loyal retainer of years, right as the prince was coming home to protect his land. He didn’t even get to tell her that she was going to be a grandmother or that he had found a wonderful woman to be his wife. He was heartbroken for days. Eruca’s support helped though and with everything that was going on he was able to get a hold of himself and try to move on.

Before they left Jehanna though, he was quickly crowned king and him and Eruca married. It wasn’t a big ceremony or anything, that could wait until after the war, but it was official and if anything were to happen to him like what happened to his mother then things were set in place at least temporarily. After that the war dragged on and eventually the tide turned and they had Lyon and the Demon king on the back foot, but things never went that smoothly.

A few days before the final battle was to take place Joshua and Eruca were sleeping together as best they could. She was due any day now and he was worried that he would be away while it happened. He woke up early and started making some food for them to eat, waiting to see when she would notice he wasn’t in bed any more.
