one time I was shopping in the mens section of pacsun and I was nervous because I dont pass and i dont understand how mens clothes work and a worker called me “little bro” and helped me with sizes and it was the most affirming experience ive ever had

faer blog is no different from genderoftheday. fae havent done anything wrong. all this has done has sent the owner into a gasping-for-air panic attack bc faer safespace has been tarnished by this. fae havent made any of the posts. theyre all submissions, and the owner THOROUGHLY checks the submitter's blog for troll activity and checks their urls on a blacklist. youve made a massive mistake

This is the last ask I will respond to on this topic. 

Kin-of-the-day was probably started with good intention, but everything in the otherkin community— the jokes, the trolls, the cutesy blogs— are taken 100% seriously by people who have no idea what otherkin is. They may not have realized when they started that blog, but that’s what will happen. Blogs like wtfsocialjustice, otherkin-isnt-a-thing, and other hate blogs will find that blog sooner if not later and then cry “this is what otherkin are like! All of them!”

That blog is helping perpetrate the stereotype that otherkin aren’t a serious thing; that otherkin is a choice, something for laughs, something for young teens to do that’s ‘trendy’ and will make them feel special. That may not be the intent the blog was started with, but that is what it is sending out into the community. It doesn’t matter how thoroughly they check the submitter’s blog when the end result is still making otherkin look like a joke.

We’re sorry for their panic attack; however, that is something beyond our control. We hope they feel better soon.
