If Sam were to have children, what would he name them? SS x

i love. have always loved the idea of sam naming his kid 'jess'. like, just bringing the name up and not telling his partner why, just saying that he really likes the name jessica. i've never seen him as a mary jr. kind of dude. he didn't know his mom at all and can't bring himself to be sentimental enough to name his child after her, idk. every time i've seen a fic or a thread where sam names his child mary, it doesn't feel right to me.

for a boy, i honestly don't know. as much as he loves his dad, he wouldn't name him john because of his own inner demons and reasons, and wouldn't need a reminder of what john represented for him in his childhood. honestly. i think sam wouldn't really. have a preference for a boy's name. he'd probably leave it up to the mother. as long as his son is healthy and as far away from sam's past as possible, it's good enough for him.

i feel like sam, after curing dean, is going to insert small tests into their everyday conversations without him knowing just to see how dean answers them like

random things about his car, john, stanford, etc.

maybe he's a little paranoid, but after that, he can't help it. he still has to make sure that this dean is his dean.

baby formula in the eighties wasn't real good, and without proper mother's milk, sammy got really sick a little while after mary died. john sat in the hospital for hours thinking he was gonna lose his son, too.

sam doesn't show much on his birthday. dean's learned not to push.

Originally, the plan was just for Sam to get the anti-possession tattoo after Meg possessed him, not Dean.

Dean got his two weeks after Sam's, when Sam confessed he thought Dean should get one, too. He gave his brother a few different designs that would work and where it would be okay to put it.

Still, he wasn't even surprised when Dean came out with the exact same one as Sam.

though i do think that sam kept the voicemail zachariah put on sam's phone at the end of season four

like, i don't think he has it now, for various reasons that could be either he grew out or that or knew keeping it for so long is ridiculous or he broke his phone/got a new number

but i think he kept it through swan song and listened to it periodically as a reminder of what he became last year and what he can't go back to. most of season five was sam being terrified of losing dean and already having lost his faith and trust and most of what made them brothers.

i wonder if dean deleted it off sam's phone himself, after he fell into lucifer's cage.
