YouTubers across the globe keep motivated with LaMetric Time
The YouTube Channel Subscribers app did a good job motivating many YouTubers with the live counter of their fans in the corner of their eye. To spice things up, people from the community created the YouTube Video Views counter, which will help follow feedback on a video in real time. Let’s take a look why these metrics are so important and how they inspire YouTubers.
Celebrate the growth of your channel in real time
Digital communications change the way we perceive the news, making it faster, briefer and more subjective. Instead of spending their evenings in front of TV, people browse for news online, check out bits of advice on different topics from their favorite influencer or character, and cheer up themselves with latest pranks.
For video makers, real people replace dull figures and charts, as instead of the latest show audience analysis, they see individual people one by one tapping ‘Subscribe’ on their Youtube channel. Community, messages, comments, likes, views — that’s what encourages YouTubers to go on. They feel motivation and inspiration with every new fan. For instance, tech vlogger Marques Brownlee, radio moderator André Kuhnert, designer SeanGraphics, and lifestyle vlogger Kane and Pia all use LaMetric Time to count their subscribers.
It’s easy to measure popularity with simple numbers, so Youtubers like to set a number of subscribers as a milestone. Step by step, they celebrate a hundred, thousand, and even a million followers. For instance, Minecraft animator Blue Monkey was almost ready to thank his 1,000,000 fan.
On my desk I have this little gadget to show my YouTube subscribers in real time!
If you're one of them, thank you so much!! 😊♥ pic.twitter.com/N2JfsMUaif

In this elegant way, YouTubers also showcase their popularity to a community and encourage people to follow them, as dozens of subscribers are the best testimonial of the good job they’ve been doing.
A live physical counter is a great way to celebrate a subscriber milestone with your community.

Either way, it’s time to ‘close the shop door - I heard McDonald’s is hiring’ as Lewis from Unbox Therapy joked.
Track how good your recent video is at a glance
No matter how many videos they have on their channel, Youtubers care about every publication. They’ve been thinking about the idea, filming and editing, and finally pressed ‘Publish’. Those first hours after the video went live are the most nerve-wracking. Sometimes they cannot do other tasks normally and continuously refresh the video to see the feedback.
As it’s not only the matter of popularity. Youtubers always look for ways to leverage their content. That’s why they analyze each video. If some video has more likes and views, it’s a good reason to move forward with the same topic and improve on it.
With the latest Youtube Video Views app Youtubers can do this almost in real time, without taking time away from other tasks. LaMetric Time shows them the number of views, likes and comments instantly.
What is sometimes more important, LaMetric Time shows the number of dislikes as well in a timely way. A YouTuber might have left his working desk, but LaMetric Time can warn him if dislikes grow so he can check it out and improve quickly if something went wrong.
Running a Youtube channel is a hard work, and to find the inspiration for every new video, it’s important to understand that people value and need your work. With Youtube Video Views app, you can take it a step further, as along with the live number of the subscribers Youtubers can now follow the views of their video in real time. Good motivation for good work!
Make your family smile when you’re not at home with lovely messages on LaMetric Time
Sometimes we’re so busy with everything that we forget about the most important things: our mom who waits for our call all day long, our spouse who stays at home and wonders if our essential meeting has gone well, or our kids who need their parents not only in the evenings. In our agenda, there is no space for a simple “I love you,” and we lose the real sense of our lives through tasks and meetings.
Meet the LaMetric Smile iOS app (it’s completely free), which allows you to share pixelated emotions to iMessage, other messengers and LaMetric Time. Even when you are far away from the family, in just a few clicks you can create and send lovely messages with an emotional icon to the LaMetric Time in your living room. LaMetric Time will show the message immediately on its highly visible display, and will let the people dearest to you know that you are thinking about them all the time, no matter how far away you are.
Share your love during the working day
Our favorite people need to feel our care all the time. You cannot spend all your time with them, but what you can do is to remind them how much you value them. No need for gifts or long calls — just spend 1 minute of your time to send an emotional message to them. Let them know how much you miss them with a beating heart, spread your good mood with a happy smile and share your love with a pixelated kiss.
Stay connected with relatives when you move overseas
Are you traveling or even relocating? When we grow up, we become independent, and sometimes forget that we’re still kids for our parents, and that they need us more and more. This is especially true for expats. When you’re overseas and time is running faster than you expected, tell them you’re OK, greet them with Easter bunny, share a flag or typical plant from a country you’re in, or even draw their pixelated portraits. LaMetric Smile will deliver your love to mom and dad.
Express your relief after a tense situation passed well
Did you prepare an important report for today? Passed your MBA test? Just landed after a long flight? Do not make them wait until you will be able to call and tell them everything — just say you’re fine with a few clicks. They deserve to share your relief.
Reach them out when they’re busy and don’t check the smartphone
You definitely know the feeling — you call your spouse and they do not respond because their smartphone is charging somewhere else. So when your spouse is busy in the kitchen or living room, and you have something important to say, do not waste your time sending a message. Just text to your home LaMetric Time. They will see that you’re approaching with a treat, and that it’s time to prepare for dinner.
Cheer your busy family member when your soccer team wins
If the situation is reversed, and someone from your family is still at work and risks missing the most important soccer play of the year, cheer them up with a message. Drop a line when their team scores a point or is close to winning. The logo of the team, a patriotic flag or a ball will transmit the emotion like no message does. They will smile and share your emotion even while working late in the evening.
Call kids for dinner when they are gaming
Probably you know the situation: the dinner is ready, and you call your kids to come eat. They do not hear you, or simply ignore it, as they’re too engaged with their game. Then you give up and go upstairs to call them personally.
No more need to go shouting throughout the whole house — text them, and the LaMetric Time in kids’ room will motivate them with an icon of a tasty dish mom prepared tonight.
Remind kids to complete important task
Would you like to check out how your kids are doing when you’re not at home? Are you sure they finished with homework, walked the dog and watered flowers? Remind them about important things with LaMetric Smile. A dog, cat, flower or cartoon hero will get the message across.
Our emotions are so different, and nothing can describe all of them. But when we’re feeling great and need to share that with our favorite people who’re away, there is a nice solution.
Use the LaMetric Smile app to share emotional messages to your LaMetric Time with your favorite pixel art stickers — and always let the people dearest to you know how you value them. Moreover, with LaMetric Smile you can also share those beloved pixel stickers to iMessage, Facebook Messenger, and other messengers.
A story of how my home got a brain — and I got a friend
I’ve never paid much attention to how small details can impact our lives. Well, I feel cheered up when music from my radio wakes me up instead of my alarm clock beeping; when I see the weather without checking my smartphone or thermometer; when I see breaking news while I have my breakfast or simply take a glance while hurrying to prepare for work.
Since I’ve put a smart clock on my shelf, I feel like I have a gentle, polite assistant that slips me the information I want when I need it.
But let’s go through this story step by step.
Can a bedside clock show the weather?
My move to a new house was educational. I went through dozens of contemporary home decor magazines, read thousands articles and was consulted by a designer to get exactly what I want. Finally my dream became true - a pretty, light building with large windows and a welcoming interior - that had its own spirit.
But yet decor was just a first piece. The home should be no less comfortable than pretty. I’ve fitted it out with some interesting pieces of equipment, such as security camera and automated lightning.
But then the question of controlling all these devices has raised.
A smartphone was a nice try, but it was not very comfortable for all family members, or for me, for that matter. It was annoying to always have to run to it when a notification beeped. So I needed something else.
I’ve thought over it and noted down what I expected from such doohickey.
These were the main things:
something minimalistic and handy at the same time, to tune up to my home
sound and text messages to keep me informed
integration with all smart devices I have
opportunity to personalize it with IFTTT or SmartThings (a second one would be a bonus)
a thermometer and a clock in the same place would be a bonus
The clock wakes us up with favorite music
After browsing the Internet and waiting for the shipping, I found the solution. The smart clock called LaMetric Time lay on my table. At a glance, it had a simple and awesome industrial design. Once I set up it I fell in love with it.
To control LaMetric Time, all I need a smartphone and a Wi-Fi. The installation took just a few minutes — add a smartphone app, switch on the display, and connect it. Even my young kid could manage it. The clock came to life.
I was in used to old-fashioned clocks: you should set up an hour by hand, change batteries and all that mechanics. LaMetric Time greeted me with the correct time and date for my time zone. There were no need to set up it. Moreover, if I want to track a different time zone, it just takes a few clicks.
On top of that, there was a nice clock face near the time - I could choose any up to my mood or needs or even to create my own. The interior got its own spirit with it.
Then I started to open a world of different apps. There were the basic things like an alarm clock or timer, and more complicated apps (social media fan counters, different business apps and so on).
For me and my family, the alarm clock worked perfectly. It woke us up with music from my favorite radio. The music waves on the display cheer me up in those few minutes before I finally roll out of bed. Getting up has never been so pleasant, and we were in perfect mood all day long.
Moreover, as soon as I opened my eyes, I already knew the real-time weather as it was outside. There were no need to get up and check a thermometer - my smart friend was clever enough to show me it. The outfit up to the forecast was chosen when I walked back to a bedroom.
Then I started to explore more apps. Drinking morning coffee and having omelette, I am already aware about what have happened in the world over the night - BBC headlines were on LaMetric Time. I listen to another music while reading news - up to 3,000 radio stations can be chosen to every particular app.
What I really enjoyed was the handiness of information - I’ve put one LaMetric in a kitchen on a ground floor and second one in a bedroom upstairs. As a result, me and my family can take a glance on what is going on around a house just in a meanwhile, without putting some additional efforts. And if we miss something, the sound warning attracts our attention.
This brain can collect everything over a home with IFTTT
The next step was to manage the IFTTT. With LaMetric Time, I felt myself a creator, as it has wide opportunities for making new apps or IFTTT recipes.
I’ve followed the instruction and created my first recipe - connected the security camera to LaMetric Time, so every time something happened near a door I was the first to know. Small win!
Then I really enjoyed some already existing recipes like letting my spouse know when I leave office or seeing my favorite team’s score on a clock. As a baseball fan, I was pleased.
My assistant even took care to inform me when its battery was low. It was like my home got a brain which collected signals over a house, analyzed them and showed me them in a simple form - with sounds, clock faces and messages.
Now I am thinking about finding some time to try out SmartThings integration and creating more recipes - I’ve alway dreamt of turning on lights with a click of a button, like in Hollywood movies.
And finally, I did not tell you everything. It also has a Bluetooth speaker, so I can stream my favorite band while partying with friends. If I would like to impress my wife instead I can cook her dinner, and the timer would help me to be on time with every dish.
I went to bed with soothing music and a funny clockface - my gentle assistant wished me sweet dreams and took care to wake me up the next day. The ambient light sensor which adapts the brightness was perfect: it wasn’t too bright to annoy us but still visible from all places at home. Love it!
Comfort consists of details which make our lives simpler and easier. And you get used to them very fast. To collect the information from my smarthome, the connected clock was a real discovery for me. It became more than a gadget; it was a kind of perfect assistant and even a friend. Hope it will be even more for you!
