Oh. At least he knew for sure that Kayn didn’t mind being kissed. He made a pleased hum as he leaned into the kiss, one of his hands going to Kayn’s waist.
It occurred to him, perhaps a little too late, that after spending time out in the cold Kayn would prefer a partner who wasn’t chilly to the touch, but he suspected that the assassin will tell him if he felt uncomfortable.
“Well,“ Jax said with a smile when they drew back from the kiss. “I didn’t actually expect you to be fine with this. Doesn’t take too much to guess that I’m probably not your type.“ He traced the dark marking on Kayn’s side. “So. How far do you want to take this?“
He should have expected the cold touch after feeling the cold of his lips, but when Jax touched the bare skin of his waist, he tensed a little. He didn’t pull away, no. The tracing of his markings was too nice for that, even with the temperature difference. He liked the attention.
“Oh, stroke my ego enough and I’ll fall like a flower petal on the first cold day of autumn.” Kayn was being dramatic--joking. He made it obvious with the way his flicked some of his hair out of his face and smiled. Both hands were on Jax’s shoulders then, though one came to smooth up the side of Jax’s neck, touching the cold skin there. Curious. It was in his touch and in his eyes, squinted as they were due to his smile.
“How far...? Oh, shadow assassins like me don’t care much for limitations.” He paused from his teasing for just a moment, expression easing into something a little more neutral. “Just don’t start taking me on dates.”
