Nymphaea Caerulea were such an important part od ancient Egypts culture and daily life, these remind me of them daily 🪷
Just some lampwork chickens lol
The culmination of weeks of work.
I know they don’t look like much, but I’ve really been intentional with each one. Each bead I pick a technique that I want to try, and then experiment with the color scheme. The first few are very obviously burnt, so each bead moving forward I’ve improved on that.
This time around I’m much more patient. I slow down and really focus. When I was in high school, I would just sit down without a real plan and just kind of improvise everything I made. As I got better, this resulted in some really fun, spontaneous beads. Now I’m a parent, and I’m squeezing in time for my hobbies at the end of the day. I don’t want to waste any time, so when I do sit down behind the torch I’m laser focused.
I find bead making to be so relaxing. Hot glass and open flame demand all of your attention, and it pushes all the worries of the day to the back of my mind for a little while. And at the end I have a pretty bead!

Glass beads handmade in Scotland by Mindy Macgregor of Moogin
My first post on Tumblr .... These are glass beads that I make by hand from a hut in the garden just outside Edinburgh, Scotland. I am rubbish at promoting so not many people actually see them . Trying to fix that 👍
Last year I got this black and orange glass faceted bead string bracelet that had these little Halloween charms. I decided to take the bracelet apart and use both the beads and charms to make various different jewelry. This piece was one of them.
Two charms that say "Trick" and "Treat" wire wrapped to lampwork candy corn beads.
If you are interested in these earrings you can purchase them on my storenvy here.
This is a piece I created several years ago based around these amazing lampwork beads by Joyce Rooks. They looked like little planets to me, so I created collars for each bead based on the elements.
