English translation of brut/doux in relation to alcoholic drinks is dry/sweet. I like dry wines and ciders Cheers !
We do use dry/sweet (sec / doux) for wines, but “brut” vs “doux” is only used for bubbly stuff (Champagne and ciders mostly), and it has more to do with bubble size than taste (i think?), even though the small-bubble-doux also tend to be sweeter as far as cider is concerned.
I had no idea you guys used the same words for wines and ciders though so thank you!!
