Great video featuring St. George Spirits master distiller Lance Winters talking about everything absinthe -- how they make it, how to drink it, what it does (makes you more clear-minded while drunk off your ass) and doesn't (hallucinate) make you do, what color it should be, and how he wants his spirits to transport you away to a familiar place or memory.

Their absinthe verte is made out of brandy, wormwood, star anise, fennel (the 3 essential ingredients in absinthe), along with other botanicals that add flavor and color, like lemon balm, meadowsweet and stinging nettles, among others.  The result is a wonderful 120 proof drink that is aromatic, floral, herby, grassy and citrusy.  Adding water releases more flavors and aromas and transforms the spirit into a milky, cloudy mixture as the essential oils from the botanicals separate from the alcohol and swirl around the glass.

A bottle of this stuff can definitely liven up a dinner party.  The neat part is that they also sell little 200 mL bottles of the absinthe that make great gifts, along with classic absinthe glasses like the ones pictured here.
