Lafayette scowled. “Those brownies just came out of the oven; do you want to burn yourself?” Lafayette placed his hands on his hips. “Plus those are for the party, you can’t have any until the party starts.” With an oven mitt, he picked up the tray with the brownies and transferred them onto a plate.
“Plus, you came early to help me, and all you did was watch me and lick the spoons when I was done with mixing the batter.” Lafayette pouted. “So for that, you can’t have an early brownie.”
“That just means they’re still gooey and fresh!” He knew his argument wasn’t going to work, but he could still try. Having to wait until the party wouldn’t be a big deal but he was there early for a reason. A small sigh escaped his lips as he brought a hand up and ran it through his hair going quiet for a long moment.
Alexander’s cheeks puffed out into a pout. “I mean, licking the spoon with freshly made batter is the best part of the brownie making process.” He countered, trying his best to defend himself from not helping more than just licking the batter off of the spoon and from the bowl. “Fine, how much longer until the party anyways?”
