Do it // *drops this here casually, runs off*
{♔} — The demon tugged at the collar of his dress shirt with annoyance. Dressing up had never been his forte. But then again, neither had balls or parties or dancing or whatever the hell Elliot had talked him into. "I invited everyone! You have to make an appearance!" She had been so proud of herself as if that would matter to him. "Why would I care who is there? I’m not going." Lance still wasn’t sure how she did it but here he was, in an uncomfortable suit get-up listening to the much too loud noises arising from the ballroom. Well, here goes nothing.
Entering the ballroom to stand atop the grand staircase, the demon peered down at the carefree crowd below. Instantly he made out Elliot. Ever the center of attention as she waltzed around to greet everyone with that angel on her arm. He was beginning to wonder if she did it only to annoy him. If she did, it was working. Turning his attention from her, he looked at the many other faces down below. Most he didn’t recognize, clearly hers and Tristan’s guests seeing as how he rarely interacted with anyone. Tonight’s going to be a long night.
Making his way down his staircase, gloved hands glided down the banister. Many turned their attention to him to gawk. It was something he was used to, being a demon and all. Evolution had done the damned justice by making them more noticeable to human eyes as to draw in their prey without much struggle. Lance ignored their gaze and continued on his way, weaving in and out of dancing couples until he made his way to Elliot.
She was talking to a girl, a pretty young brunette. He didn’t pay the girl much attention as he nudged his contractee in the side harshly only to earn a hostile glare in return. "Lancelot," She half hissed with a hint of a smug smirk at using his full name, "This is Braelyn Davis. How about you two get to know each other?" And with that, the ever so smug Ellie was slipping away once more. Lance’s eyes enlarged and his mouth gaped. He hadn’t even recognized her. "Braelyn?" Her long hair was fashioned into braids and curls that kept her face open and more visible. While he didn’t usually care for makeup on women, the eyeliner and shadow she had chosen only made her eyes pop in ways he never noticed before. And her dress.. it modeled every curve of her body in the most sinful way imaginable. He slowly relaxed into a gentle smile. "Braelyn.. long time no see."
——————————————————————- Hours later
Soon enough the moon was starting to fall from the sky as ribbons of pinks and purples stretched over the horizon. Lance and Braelyn had managed to make their way out onto the ballroom balcony where they must have lost track of the time through their banter and laughs. It had been awhile since the demon’s guard had been let down.. it was nice. Eventually Ellie had pried open the doors he thought he had locked tightly enough to keep her out and poked her head out to stare at them, "Lance come on." Shooting her an irritated glance he replied shortly, "What do you want now, pest?" Elliot’s eyes filled with venom at his snide remark but she chose to ignore it. "We’re closing up soon and I want you in here with me to announce our thank yous. So quit flirting and get your demonic ass in here." And with that she was gone before he could so much as think up a response.
"Ugh. Come on." Slipping his hand into the brunette’s own, he pulled her inside with him. Noticing the still glaring Elliot on the stairtop and the ever flirting Tristan standing beside her where she must have drug him along as well, Lance stopped along the crowd and dropped the girl’s hand from his grasp. With that, he turned and without warning melted his lips to her own and pulled back with a dazzling smirk. "Thank you for the lovely evening, m’lady." And with that he turned and made his way to stand to the side of a gawking Elliot and surprised Tristan. "Close your mouth, Ellz. You’re going to catch flies like that."
