Foreign Lands
The scent of hell and all of it’s anguish drafts itself among the area. The horrified screams of pleading civilians wrecked her calm temperament. The howls of the foreign creatures strikes fear into the young girl’s very own sentiment. A cold shiver cracks down her spine and she is stricken with paralysis. The girl’s range of view allows her to bear witness to the chaos unfolding in the innocent rural neighborhood. A ravenous creature hungry for the instrument that kept her alive. It’s haunting yellow eyes set its gaze at the young girl, piercing into her very heart.
A sound disturbed the now grown woman’s sleep. In a calm manner, her eyes opened from the deep slumber. She found myself sprawled out on her stomach, laying on the grass. The shadow casts upon the leaves laid upon her face. Valora’s eyes shot open. Alarmed, the crimsonette stood up and glanced around. Glossy gold and silver stared at the open blue sky filled with clouds which stretched far out into the horizon. A vast amount of land was before her without much of anything occupying it's space. "Where...?" She softly questioned aloud as she turned around frantically. This did not look like her home. It was then she remembered the events that had transpired. Images of her desperately trying to keep her fingers intertwined with her sister's as they were swallowed by a rip within the sky - a force of gravity pulling them into a black pit. But to no prevail, they were separated.
The ground beneath her feet violently shook, breaking the warrior out of her cogitations. Two toned hues glanced at the floor with confusion. The shaking would come and go like the wind. Counting down the seconds in-between it almost seemed as if it were footsteps instead of something out of the force of nature. But then the vibrations became much more evident as it picked up the pace.
Prompting her head, she saw an colossal figure heading her way. It's size was no different than some of the beasts she fought at home but what ignited fear within her was that it wore the face of a man, the appearance of a human. "What the...?!" She shouted out of confusion. But her disposition was calm and fearless. "Don't come any closer!" Valora ordered for it's own safety. But the behemoth would would not halt. It held a grimacing expression as it extended out its arms ready to grab it's target. "Tch..." She scowled out of irritation. The hands slammed down, attempting to grasp her but she summoned a shield around her. She did a few back flips before releasing the barrier, allowing his hands to firmly hit the ground.
The redhead threw out her hands and summoned her bow and arrows. Carefully aiming, she let go in an instant to hit it's eye before rushing in. The monstrous man held it's wound, crying out in pain and she took the opportunity to attack his one leg using a weak spell of fire. Clearly, hand to hand combat would do little to him. As he fell upon his knee, Valora noticed his injured eye was steaming and as the smoke faded, it was revealed his eye had regenerated. "How is that possible?!" Valora shouted in disbelief. Jumping far back to keep a safe distance, she glared at her opponent. Glaring to her surrounding, she saw more far into the fields. Never before had she felt insecure in battle. It was then the roaring noise of an army crept upon her ear from behind her. The loud crashing noises of the horse's hoofs and men shouting orders was a sign of relief, but only for a moment. She did not know if they were to be friend or foe.
