Like wow. The Narnia story is more full of metaphorical symbolisms of sin and forgiveness, and a world that being slowly overtaken by the white witch, Jadis,(who had a history of being problematic in the previous book).
The kids were also escaping the pressures of school and the terrors of world war 2(they fled to the country cuz of bomb threats.)
And oh no, having an author write what they want. The horrors. I mean, its not like he struggled and poured love and time into writing a series of books which happened to be well received, and helped place fantasy on the map of genres.
As far as taking over anything, they were playing hide and seek and while hiding in a wardrobe, they discovered the portal to another world. They were afraid, one of them was tricked and got into deathly trouble. The others went to find him, and found out they were in danger from Jadis, so they tried to evade her and her troops. She wanted no other humans there because it was told she would be overthrown by them. She went to war with Aslan and them so she could try to keep her control over the land.
Most of the animals and creatures living there, didn’t want that cuz that meant an eternal winter.
The kids didn’t do much there but live and try to keep peace and help out where they could, and try to fix problems if they were able. Most of the series is them not even being very powerful, them being doubted and dismissed because they are children, and despite all of that, they still go on and try to help others, have adventures, and learn lessons in life that build up their character.
It was kinda like the never ending story tv series, Sebastion has an irl problem, goes to fantasia where he helps gets in trouble or helps out, discovers an important lesson, and goes back home to help improve his life now that he has that lesson learned.
Also back in the days, everyone basically invaded everyone else or tried to. This was a world wide occurrence. That’s why the Great Wall of China was built, why other nations joined others to defend themselves from other countries, or other nations tried to overtake other countries.
